Hello Everyone,
You have no doubt heard the news of updates on COVID-19 guidance from the State of Ohio and the Centers for Disease Control this week. You may also be wondering - what does this mean for OSU graduate students and when we will be back on campus?
I am unable to provide a definitive plan for the CEGE 'return to campus' right now. Please know that there are a lot of planning discussions that are happening in the College and the University. It has been a long year-plus without the regular interactions with your research team members and student peers. There have been times that it has been hard to focus and times that it seems that this virtual telework mode will never end. We are so close right now to transitioning to a more familiar way of researching, learning and socializing. I ask that you please be patient with our current mode of operation for a few more weeks so that we have good clarity on a plan that will remain in place once it is launched. I hope to have more information soon.
The news of planning to return to campus may be exciting for you, or you may be feeling anxious about what is to come. I remind you that there are some excellent OSU resources to help you understand all of the emotions that you may be feeling: (i) Safe and Healthy Buckeyes: Mental Health and Wellness.<https://click.t.osu.edu/?qs=30a7a0d53f3bcf86831580f0f719fb9392fe6bd06ddd34d16c520b89412d4dfa1100af86aca5093e67e715a7141ae332f20cb3a154ae128b4a67fca777e5c42d>
and (ii) Chief Wellness Officer Health and Wellness page<https://click.t.osu.edu/?qs=30a7a0d53f3bcf86ccfce309f92fce4711e7aa337d20cb4168afd772bb69c014396733099ffcd9a5fc1c1029cffdb10c73d72fd611fb7782d8aa0b79dcd940b0>. Please use these tips.
In closing, I reiterate President Johnson's message to sign up for a vaccine, if you have not already done so. This is an important element for you to keep safe and healthy when we return to campus.
Please reach out if you have additional questions or concerns.
Take care of yourself and your family and friends,
Allison
