Dear CEGE students (CC: CEGE faculty),

The application for Graduate Teaching Associate (GTA) positions with our department is now available. If you’re interested in applying, please submit an application using this survey: https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d425Gx3x3gFgD8G.

The courses for which GTA positions are available are listed in the attached PDF, along with the preferences that instructors have specified for GTA skillsets and experiences for each course. Please take a look at the chart and keep those preferences in mind as you’re applying to specific courses. To learn more about each course, applicants can also reference the syllabus (via the link in the Qualtrics application). Typically, lecture course have a 10-hour (25%) GTA assignment and lab courses have a 20-hour (50%) GTA assignment.

Please note the following:

  * Applicants should be familiar with the Graduate School's Graduate Associate guidelines, including benefits, enrollment requirements, eligibility and terms of appointment, available here: https://gradsch.osu.edu/graduate-associates.
  * Only students currently enrolled in the CEGE Graduate Program are eligible to apply. Incoming graduate students and graduate students outside of the department will not be considered for GTA appointments.
  * Applicants should discuss their intention to apply for a GTA position with their advisor in advance of applying. Advisors will be contacted for their acknowledgment and support of each student's application.
  * International students - please be aware of the Oral Proficiency Assessment (OPA) requirement for GTAs: https://esl.ehe.osu.edu/home/testing/spoken-english/; students were informed of this in the fall and should have already signed up for an exam, if needed.
  * Appointments will be made for AU21 and/or SP22; any appointments in future years will require reapplication.

Applications are due by Friday, April 9, at 11:59pm. Due to expected delays with the department's budget, final decisions may not be released until July 2021.

Thank you,

Dina

Please note: as of March 1, 2021, I will be working in a limited capacity (10 hrs/wk); I appreciate your patience with replies.
