[CE_GRAD] Reminder: Access Exception Request Process: Graduate Student Offices & 4th Floor Bolz

Dear CEGE grad students and faculty,

The guidelines for graduate student office use, GTA hours, and Bolz 4th floor remain the same for Spring 2021 as they were for Autumn 2020.

Bolz 4th floor spaces are currently only available to the students who have classes in those computer lab spaces, and only for class purposes.

Otherwise, if you're in need of drop-in space for back-to-back virtual and in person classes, etc., please see the information about ODEE's Drop-In Classrooms (this is for undergrads too, so feel free to share with your classes):
Drop-in Classroom Space - There are available classroom spaces for students to use as “drop-in” study spaces. For a list of all of the “drop-in” classrooms that will be available for students to use throughout campus for Spring 2021, please see: https://odee.osu.edu/spaces/classrooms/drop-spaces

ETS should also have computer labs available on campus, and printing (also for undergrads):

  *   Follow Me Printing program, https://ets.osu.edu/academic-lab-printing, is available for all Engineering students that enables printing from computers, mobile devices, and tablets to printers located across the campus.
  *   Virtual Helpdesk - ETS launched a virtual helpdesk, go.osu.edu/etsvirtualhelpdesk<https://go.osu.edu/etsvirtualhelpdesk> for you to connect with an ETS team member for assistance (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm).  You may also submit a request,  https://go.osu.edu/etshelp or call, (614) 688-2828 or email us, etshelp at osu.edu<mailto:etshelp at osu.edu>  to get support.

Students with an assigned campus office who cannot be accommodated by the drop-in classroom space and computer labs can submit an exception request<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=NlYJ61IQlUiVKx_53x0RIe8pSIFUdPlDlgnAt2Bj0OdUNFFHV0pKUDBBTFg1Qzg3SkREM0FBUENQUi4u> to use their office during Spring 2021.

Dear graduate students,



As Dr. MacKay shared in the CEGE Return to Campus Townhall last week, CEGE's 4th floor Bolz computer labs and study spaces, as well as graduate student offices will remain closed while telework requirements are in effect.



Unavailable spaces for AU20: 4th floor Bolz computer labs, conference rooms and huddle rooms; Graduate Student Offices: BO213, 216, 217, 225, 233, 346, HI 015, 003B.



An exception process is being used for graduate students to request access to office space under exceptional circumstances (e.g., childcare matters, back-to-back online/in-person classes, excessive commute time, computer reboot) for one-time or recurring access needs. Students who have a specific need to use their previously assigned offices or the newly renovated 4th floor Bolz space should submit this exception request<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=NlYJ61IQlUiVKx_53x0RIe8pSIFUdPlDlgnAt2Bj0OdUNFFHV0pKUDBBTFg1Qzg3SkREM0FBUENQUi4u> for review at least 48 hours ahead of the need for access.



Please note:

- Students will be able to remote into CEGE computers and use specialized software. (Please contact ETS for more information – ets.osu.edu)

- Students that have been working in research labs as part of the Stage 3 & 4 reopening process should continue to follow the policies and schedule established by their research advisor and lab supervisor.

- GTAs will hold virtual office hours.
