* Students will be expected to sequester for 10 days upon arrival/return to Columbus and get two negative tests before coming campus for classes, research, etc., and then test weekly after that for the remainder of the semester. The Spring Student Involvement Fair takes place each year January, giving new and returning students an opportunity to explore more options for their involvement. Smaller and more intimate than the Student Involvement Fair held during Welcome Week, the Spring Student Involvement Fair gives students a perfect chance to meet people and learn about the great things Ohio State's student organizations are doing. Although the live Fair event takes place from 4-7 p.m., display booths and features will be available to navigate from Jan 21-31. * 35th Annual Hayes Research Forum - The 2021 Hayes Research Forum will take place on Friday, April 9th in a completely virtual format. Students may submit an abstract via the CGS website by January 15, 2021. Cash prizes, totaling more than $14,000, will be awarded to the top-judged presentations in each academic area. * Ohio Section American Water Works Association (OAWWA) Fresh Ideas Competition at the One Water Technical Conference in July 2021 - DUE January 29, 2021 - More info Attached Young Professionals (YP) Committee is hosting this competition, which provides graduate students, undergraduates, and recent graduates the opportunity to present on their drinking water-related research. Topics can include source water protection, drinking water treatment, water distribution and storage, etc.!

The Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship provides a unique educational and professional experience to graduate students who have an interest in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources. The Fellowship, named after one of Sea Grant's founders and former NOAA Administrator John A. Knauss, matches highly qualified graduate students with "hosts" in the legislative and executive branch of government located in the Washington, D.C. area, for a one-year paid fellowship.

* Public Affairs 8055 (syllabus attached) - Public Affairs and Public Choice is designed to introduce graduate students to a series of largely non-mathematical public economics and public choice models. The course is built around a series of powerful small thought models and economic concepts that have important implications for public policy analysis. Material is drawn from public sector economics, public choice theory, and public budgeting and public finance. This class is a survey of public choice models that can be applied in a variety of contexts.
