Lab: Purchasing Lab Coats:

Each student is required to purchase a department-approved lab coat to wear during General Chemistry

labs. The lab coat sold in the Chemistry Store is the ONLY acceptable model.



You must have your lab coat by the time you arrive for your first in-person lab session.  When you purchase

your lab coat at the Chemistry Store, you will be provided with a plastic bag for storage and a lab coat care

info sheet. If you purchased a lab coat last semester you may reuse that lab coat. Laundering instructions

with the salesperson for more details.

The Chemistry Store is located in 180 Celeste Lab and their website is https://u.osu.edu/chems/. Their hours vary,

but they are typically open Monday-Friday from 7:45 am-4 pm. Credit cards and Buck-ID are currently the only

accepted method of payment. We strongly recommend you do not wait until the day of your first lab session to purchase

your lab coat. Please note that the Chemistry Store is not operated by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
