Fwd: sending me e-mail

I sent the following e-mail before the semester started but a number of you
aren't following the instructions. There's one additional thing.
When you send an e-mail about a homework exercise please tell me which
edition of the book it's from. I'm allowing the use of several
different editions
(10, 11, 12, 13, 14) and the end-of-chapters problem numbers vary. It can be
hard for me to figure out which problem it is if I don't have the book
edition.
Also, please send e-mails to my account or the lab supervisor account (see
the links below) and not through Carmen. It's easier for me to keep track
of things and will make sure I get them. If you don't hear from me in about
1-2 days please resend the message and indicate you've sent it previously.
You can send lab questions to labsupervisor account which could mean a
faster response. They can be sent to me but I will get them if sent to that
address and sending them there means another set of eyes looking at e-mails.

Please read the instructions below and follow this.
I communicate mostly via e-mail. The information I send to the class will
be via e-mail. I prefer this to using the messaging system within Carmen.
Please send questions directly to me or the assistant lab supervisor rather
than using Carmen. You should also set up your Carmen account so any
messages left there are forwarded to your OSU e-mail account, either daily
or weekly (daily is better).
If you want to send an e-mail to me do *NOT *send it to or reply to the
e-mail
list (chem1250) I use for sending e-mails to the class. I will get it
eventually
but it's possible it could go through to the entire class. To send me
an e-mail
use the following addresses,
zellmer.1 at osu.edu
rzellmer at chemistry.ohio-state.edu
You can also send an e-mail to the following address. Both Jacob Uebler
(the assistant lab supervisor for 1250) and myself will get the e-mail.
chem1250labsupervisor at chemistry.ohio-state.edu
<mailto:chem1250labsupervisor at chemistry.ohio-state.edu>
I'm teaching two sections of Chem 1250 this semester, a M,W,F lecture
section
and a T,R lecture section. Unfortunately, the university decided due to
FERPA
rules we can no longer combine both sections into one Carmen class.
This will
make things a little more complicated for me.
I get a lot of e-mails. To make it easier for me to quickly answer your
questions
please let me know which lecture section you are in and include the
information
I've asked for below. This is particularly important when your
questions deal with
lab. When sending me an e-mail make the subject line look something like:
Chem 1250 (MWF) - "rest of subject"
Chem 1250 (TR) - "rest of subject"
Examples:
Subject: Chem 1250 (MWF) - Help with Homework Problem 1.1
Subject: Chem 1250 (TR) - Help with Exp. 1
*If it relates to lab you must indicate which experiment, day/time of your**
**lab and your lab TA name. If this info is not included you may not get a
reply or it may be delayed.
*
I attempt to answer e-mails in a prompt manner, usually within 1 day.
If you
do not get a reply w/in 1 day please resend your e-mail.
Finally, every now and then I accidentally send something from my personal
account. Again, don't reply to that account since I don't check it as
often
as I do my chemistry account. Always send e-mails to me at one of the
e-mail addresses listed above.
Thanks,
Dr. Zellmer
