Midterm times and conflicts

It's been decided that the days and times of the exams can not be changed
due to scheduling conflicts with other things in the rooms we would need.
Thus, our exams will occur at the days/time in the syllabus.

I know this means we have a relatively large number of students with
conflicts
with the Math 1172 class.  Here's how this will be handled.

First, keep in mind Math 1172 also has an alternate exam the Friday mornings
(8 AM) following the Thursday midterm.

If you have a conflict you need to go into Carmen and sign up for an
alternate
exam time, unless you plan on taking the alternate exam for Math 1172.
You will need to submit documentation of any conflict.  For Math 1172, since
we've seen a syllabus, you must submit a copy of your class schedule.  For
conflicts with other classes you should also submit a copy of your class
schedule.

When you log into Carmen go to the "Exams" module.  There you will see a
link, "Exam Attendance Policy".  Go to that link and follow the
directions given.
There are four alternate exam times on Thursday, Feb. 1, the day of the
exam,

8:00
11:10
4:00
5:30

You should be signing up for one of these times unless your class schedule
precludes these times.  If you can't make one of these times on Thursday
your next option should be the Math 1172 alternate on Friday. If none of
those
options work there are two times on Wed. Jan 31.  However, you should NOT
sign up for Wed. unless your schedule doesn't allow you to take the Chem
1250
alternate at one of the four times on Thursday, Feb. 1, or the Math 1172
alternate
on Friday, Feb. 2.

You need to sign up by 11:59 PM, THIS Sunday, Jan. 21.  You can sign up
for ALL three midterms at the same time.
