There is in error in the solutions manual to the end-of-chapter exercise 14.40(c).
This is about whether the half-life for a 2nd-order reaction changes or remains
the same as the reaction proceeds. The solutions manual states the half-life for
2nd-order is constant over the course of the reaction. This is incorrect. It inc.
as the conc. for each half-life decreases (inverse relationship). Remember,
you're suppose to show for yourself that each successive half-life doubles.
The [A]o for each successive half life is cut in half. [A]o is not restricted to
the conc. of A at the very start of the rxn. It is the initial conc. at the start
of each half-life.
