graphs in homework, quizzes, exams

I had someone ask about a problem from the book which required a graph.
They weren't able to get the correct answer.  If you draw a graph by hand
w/o graph paper you're not likely to get the right answer.  My suggestion
would be to quickly put the numbers into Excel and make a graph.

On a quiz I might ask you to "sketch" a graph, picture, etc.  I wouldn't 
expect
you to be able to get very reasonable numbers from the graph.

On quizzes and exams I could give a graph with grid lines and data points
on the graph, maybe even the best-fit line.  Based on this you should be
able to get reasonable numbers from the graph and be able to answer
questions based on the graph.
