You were allowed to use your phones for exp 17 to keep track of
the elapsed time. You can do so again for exp 18. However, I've
seen a couple of things you shouldn't do.
1) Your stopwatch will likely have times such as 3:22:44.3.
This is hours:min:sec.fractions of a second. There's no
point in recording the fraction of a second. You could not
be this accurate for either exp 17 or 18.
2) You can not leave your time in this format for either exp 17 or 18.
You will need to convert it to either all seconds or minutes, it
really
doesn't matter which you choose. Turns out there is a pretty easy
way to do this. Go to the following link and follow the directions:
https://www.proworkflow.com/blog/2009/02/converting-time-into-minutes-using-excel/
Put your time in as 0:00:00 (h:mm:ss). If your time is 30 min and
30 sec
enter it as 0:30:30. If it's 1 hour, 5 min and 5 sec enter it as
1:05:05.
This appears to work fine and gives time in minutes. You can leave it
in minutes. If you want seconds just multiply the equation shown
by 60.
