I got a question about problem # 31 on practice exam 3
(although if you used Examplify to take it I'm not sure if
it's scrambling the questions so it might not be #31).

The question is the following:

Atoms of which element have an anomalous configuration
of [Kr]5s^1 4d^7 ?

A. Fe
B. Ru
C. Rh
D. Os

While we didn't learn about this exception you can figure
this out from just the number of electrons given in the
question.  The element is in row 5 and in the d-block.
It has 8 electrons total in the 5s and 4d.  This means it's
the 8th element in that row (the 6th one over in the d-block).

This is different than asking you what the electron config.
for this element.  That we wouldn't expect you to know
except for the five I mentioned in class (Cr and Mo,
Cu, Ag and Au).
