2016 OHIO STATE ATI DAIRY CATTLE JUDGING TEAM CONTEST RESULTS

The Ohio State ATI Dairy Cattle Judging Team participated in 5 contests during the 2016 judging season.  Seven students participated with the judging teams during 2016:  six as contestants (alternates) and one as an assistant coach.  The individuals who participated in the contest, left to right in the picture, are:  Don Hange (coach), Hope Hazelton, Adam Miley, Liz Berstler, Hannah Dye (assistant coach), Zach Berry, Levi Plocher, John Paulin, and Royce Thornton (coach).

Eastern States Exposition, West Springfield, MA - September 17, 2016 (4 teams)


·        Team Placings:  1st Overall; 2nd in Ayrshires; 1st in Brown Swiss; 1st in Guernseys; 1st in Holsteins; 2nd in Jerseys

·        Individual Placings (top 10):

o   Liz Berstler:  1st Overall; 4th in Ayrshires; 1st in Brown Swiss; 6th in Guernseys; 5th in Holsteins; 2 in Jerseys; 1st in Milking Shorthorn; 9th in Oral Reasons

o   Levi Plocher:  5th Overall; 9th in Ayrshires; 6th in Brown Swiss; 4th in Guernseys; 2nd in Holsteins; 6th in Jerseys; and 3rd in Oral Reasons

o   John Paulin:  6th Overall; 2nd in Brown Swiss; 9th in Guernseys; 1st in Holsteins; 8th in Jerseys; and 5th in Oral Reasons

All-American Dairy Show, Harrisburg, PA - September 19, 2016 (6 teams)


·        Team Placings:  2nd Overall; 2nd in Ayrshires; 2nd in Brown Swiss; 5th in Guernseys; 4th in Holsteins; 2nd in Oral Reasons

·        Individual Placings (top 10)

o   Liz Berstler:  7th Overall; 6th in Ayrshires, 2nd in Brown Swiss; 9th in Holsteins; 6th in Jerseys; 3rd in Oral Reasons

o   Hope Hazelton:  6th in Brown Swiss; 6th in Oral Reasons

o   Adam Miley:  6th Overall; 7th in Brown Swiss; 3rd in Guernseys

o   Levi Plocher:  10th in Ayrshires; 5th in Brown Swiss; 3rd in Jerseys; 10th in Oral Reasons

World Dairy Expo Practical Contest, Madison, WI - October 2, 2016 (10 teams)


·        Team Placings:  5th overall; 2nd in Linear Evaluation; 1st in Registered Heifers

·        Individual Placings:  Adam Miley - 3rd in Linear Evaluation; Liz Berstler - 5th in Linear Evaluation; John Paulin - 10th in Linear Evaluation.

World Dairy Expo Traditional Contest, Madison, WI - October 3, 2016 (12 teams)


·        Team Placings:  6th Overall; 1st in Guernseys; 1st in Jerseys; 5th in Oral Reasons

·        Individual Placings (top 10)

o   Liz Berstler:  4th in Ayrshires; 10th in Brown Swiss; 5th in Jerseys

o   Adam Miley:  10th in Holsteins; 2nd in Jerseys
