[All-extension] Betty Wingerter's Father's passing

It's with sadness that we share the news that County Director Betty Wingerter's father passed away.

Paul E. Wingerter, age 85, died Monday after a brief illness.  Born in Malvern, he lived in Canton most of his life, was a 1946 graduate of McKinley High School and a graduate of Walsh University.  He was retired from the Veteran Administration.  Paul was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, Council No. 4733 Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters and American Legion Post 44.  He also volunteered at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with training the Altar Servers and the school.  Paul was a World War II Army veteran and was retired from the Army Reserve as a CW3.  Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Wingerter, two sisters and three brothers.  Survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Wingerter of Dayton, son, Michael Wingerter of Canton, granddaughter, Megan Brittingham of Torrington, Wyoming and a brother.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with the Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday, May 8, from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist or St. Joan of Arc Catholic School.
