[AFS_OSU] Foundry Club Introduction Meeting

Hello All,

I am excited to say we had a large number of students sign up for our email list this semester! For all of you who are new, welcome.

For our first meeting this semester, I would like to invite everyone to stop by and I'll give you a quick tour of our current foundry so new students can see the legacy of our club. This will be a great way to meet myself and some of the officers/older members and to see our capabilities! I highly encourage all members to stop by to meet and chat with new students.

Please stop by to tour the foundry (MacQuigg 050) next Tuesday or Wednesday (September 7th & 8th) between 4-6pm.

I will be there personally both days to show people around and answer any questions. At our following meeting, we will collect design ideas from you so we can start working on building molds, so they are ready for use by the time the foundry is.

As some of you may be aware, the MSE foundry is in MacQuigg Labs, a building on north campus that is currently undergoing renovations. As a result of the continued progress of these renovations, the foundry itself is being relocated to the Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME<https://cdme.osu.edu/>) on west campus right across the street from CEMAS. This move is in the progress of happening, so the foundry equipment we use for the club is currently out of commission, but we will have complete access to the equipment at the new location later this semester.
