[AFS_OSU] Foundry Club Meeting Availability

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the fall 2020 semester. For anyone who is new to the department, I am Michael Moodispaw and I am the chair of foundry club.

This semester, foundry club will be putting on some technical and professional talks related to the foundry industry. We would like as many people to join us as possible so you can learn more about the foundry industry, (my favorite) the science of casting, and for you to create industry connections. (foundry club is inclusive and for anyone, not just MSE, and does not require an interest in metals to enjoy.)

Our first meeting will be a general introduction to the club and we can choose which topics you would like to have talks/speakers for during this semester. Our second meeting will happen toward the beginning of October and will be with our industry partners (American Foundry Society Central Ohio Chapter) for a brief update, and some time to meet and talk with industry professionals from around Ohio.

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all having a great start to your semester. With COVID and limited access to the foundry, our club activities are more restricted than normal, but at minimum we still intend on hosting some events through zoom whether that be guest speakers, demonstrations, etc.

For anyone interested in attending any of our events, please fill out this When2Meet: https://www.when2meet.com/?9658003-RBFKR. For those who have never used this site, all you do is enter your name (no need for a password) and click 'sign in'. Then click and drag on the calendar to select which days and times work best for you. It should automatically save, so don't worry about whether your response went through!
