I realize that this article was previously posted by Marielle O'Neill last week. My apologies for the duplication.

Pondering further on the contrast between these two formats, it is intriguing to see how many more visual elements could be included in the online version of the article than in the print version (which takes up only half a page and offers a single composite illustration of the three dresses). The print and online versions are parallel universes.

In the print version of the article, the dresses are sequenced vertically and organized chronologically (Virginia Woolf's red, reddish-purple, and black dress with roses; Laura Brown's turquoise dress with pink and blue floral details; and Clarissa Vaughan's off-white jacket and skirt with a brownish/purplish belt).

The costume designer indicates that he focused on the style of the roses he had decided to use for both Virginia's and Laura's dresses.

Worth a read, I think.
