[Vwoolf] White Rose Leaves?

The good old OED, of course - always step 1 when these types of questions arise: before Woolf, Shakespeare & Shelley etc. used « leaf » in the sense of « petal » - thank you Jeremy for the OED reminder. I should have checked first.
I do maintain the light poetic undertone of « leaves » though, after all.
