[Sc-aquaponics] FW: NCRAC Survey

All,

this was sent around to everyone about a month ago but due to response rates being low I wanted to send it again and re-emphasize. Surveys are accepted from all indoor fish production water re-use systems. The project leaders wish to state that if there is information that you are not willing to disclose in the e-mail, then it can be left blank. Not only will the top 5 facilities that are chosen allow for greater understanding of HVAC concerns in the Midwest, it will also allow that individual farm a chance to see exactly how well their buildings are holding up to the indoor aqua production. Water that evaporates from the tanks/troughs often condenses on the rafters. Proper ventilation is key to improve the longevity of your facility. This would be even more of a concern for those who produce saltwater fish. Don't hesitate to contact Bob Rode or Al Heber for more information.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

Matt

Subject: [NCR Fish Culture] FW: NCRAC Survey

A project through NCRAC is looking to survey indoor aquaculture facilities and select five representative facilities for conducting environmental and energy audits in the summer and in the winter (two days of measurements and information gathering). The output would be guides intended to optimize energy budgets for indoor fish production systems in the North Central Region, where heating costs are a critical concern. This is a great opportunity for RAS and Aquaponics facilities in the region.
See the email and attachments from Bob Rode, please participate if you fall into this group, and pass this email along to others who may be interested.

All;

Please read and forward the attached documents to any and all RAS/Indoor producers that you can think of in the NCRAC region. Al Heber and I would like to do the majority of winter site visits to farms selected in January, hence the need for survey completion by December 15th. Aside from collecting data that we feel would be of interest to the whole industry moving forward, the farms selected will potentially gain valuable insight into how to make their operations more energy efficient and potentially increase the longevity of the buildings they are using.
