Join the new Engaged Scholarship Faculty Community of Practice
The Office of Outreach and Engagement is forming a Community of Practice for Ohio State faculty interested in the scholarship of engagement.  Any faculty whose scholarship is in any way focused on connecting the "rich resources of the university to our most pressing social, civic, and ethical problems," (from Boyer, 1996, The Scholarship of Engagement), you are invited to participate!  The first meeting will take place on Feb. 26 from 10-11:30am.

Opportunity for students to explore national and international service programs

On February 24, 5-6pm, students can join representatives of Peace Corps, Americorps, Urban Teachers, City Year, and Teach for America to learn how each program works for positive impact nationally and internationally, and compare similarities and differences in their service programs.  Please consider sharing this opportunity with your students.

Call for proposals: Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC) Conference
ESC is seeking proposals for its 2021 virtual conference taking place Sept. 13-15.  This year's annual meeting will explore the theme of "Creating Connections and Expanding Possibilities" for publicly engaged scholarship, teaching, and policy.  Proposals are due March 15.

Upcoming Events from Campus Compact
Campus Compact is offering a robust schedule of virtual events this year!  As a member institution, all events are free for Ohio State affiliates.  Two that may be of particular interest are: Thursday, Feb. 11 "Avoiding Microaggressions within Service Learning and Community Engaged Learning" and Thursday, April 22 "Critical Consciousness for Community-Engaged Teaching and Learning.
