Funding for faculty, staff, and student engagement
The Connect and Collaborate Grants Program incentivizes faculty, staff, students, and their community partners to submit letters of intent for programs that have the potential to catalyze engaged, collaborative teaching and research activities benefitting the community and university.  Grants up to $70,000 are available.  Letters of intent are due Friday, Sept. 29.

2018 Community Engagement Conference Call for Proposals
Proposals are currently being accepted for Ohio State's inaugural Community Engagement Conference, taking place Jan. 24-25, 2018, in the Ohio Union.  Building on the success of the Extension Annual Conference and the university's Engagement Forum, the conference will bring together faculty, staff, students, and community partners to focus on professional development and networking, while exploring potential new engagement partnerships.  The theme of this year's conference is Partnering to Advance Health and Wellness.  Proposals are due Oct. 30, 2017.

Undergraduate students invited to apply for Propel Ohio collegiate leadership summit
Propel Ohio is a leadership program that promotes civic engagement and inspires undergraduate students to grow into civic leaders in Ohio. Undergraduate students are invited to apply to participate in Propel Ohio: Collegiate Leadership Summit 2017, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 17 at the University of Akron. The program will actively engage with college students on issues that affect childhood poverty, including food security, inequities in education, and homelessness. The application deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Pen to Paper 2017 Writing Retreat registration now open
The Pen to Paper writing retreat focused on writing with, for, and about service and engagement will take place Nov. 9-11, at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.  Registration for this unique opportunity to focus on your engagement scholarship with a cohort of peers, while fostering personal connections with journal editors and senior faculty coaches, is open now.

Webinar on service-learning for critical consciousness
Using a social justice paradigm based on Critical Consciousness develops the capacity for service-learning projects to integrate how systems of power are created, maintained, and changed.  This can play an important role in developing students' skills, knowledge, and agency to create just social systems.  This webinar at 1pm on Oct. 24, from Minnesota Campus Compact explores the elements of Critical Consciousness, and how those elements can be used to deepen students' capacity for social change through intentional service-learning experiences.
