Info sessions scheduled for newest service-learning grant program
The Office of Service-Learning will host two information sessions to discuss the current Service-Learning Grants program for Autumn 2016.  The sessions will take place in Thompson Library, Rm 460, on Friday, Oct. 14, at 1:30pm, and Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 11:30am. We will discuss the partnership with the Columbus Metropolitan Library, and how this flexible service activity can be added to any course.  This is a great opportunity for instructors to augment their teaching and ease into service-learning.

Ohio State earns national recognition for community service
The 2015 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll results have been announced, and Ohio State has once again been recognized for its commitment to service.  The President's Honor Roll recognizes institutions that support exemplary community service programs, both curricular and co-curricular.  It is the highest federal recognition an institution can receive for its commitment to community, service-learning, and civic engagement.  Ohio State was recognized for general community service, as well as programs focused on education and economic opportunity.

Pen to Paper writing retreat
Pen to Paper is an academic writing retreat designed to provide time, space, and resources to guide faculty, professional staff, grad students, and community partners working on journal manuscripts related to service-learning and community-engagement.   This year's retreat will take place October 20-21, at George Williams College in Williams Bay, WI.  This is a great opportunity to receive feedback from journal editors and senior faculty coaches. Registration closes at 11:59pm EDT on Friday, October 7.
