Annual Linguistics Pedagogy Lecture to Discuss Service-Learning
The Department of Linguistics' Annual Lecture on Linguistics Pedagogy will be held Friday (10/9) 3:55pm in 150 Cunz Hall.  Anne Charity Hudley, Associate Professor of Education, English, and Linguistics at William and Mary and the William and Mary Professor of Community Studies will speak on "Engaging Undergraduates Through Community-Based Participatory Research."  Dr. Hudley studies language in the classroom, especially with regard to linguistic and racial minorities, as well as linguistics and social activism. P12 Partnership Inventory
The 2015 Ohio State P12 Partnership Inventory is underway.  Anyone who manages P12 activities and programs is invited to complete the 10 minute survey at this link<https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eDrLQQH6V80Xsvb> by October 30.  Last year's survey covered 484 unique P12 programs<https://p12.ehe.osu.edu/files/2015/10/University.pdf> across the state.  This data assists the university in communicating its activities with Ohio schools and organizations that serve school age children and families.

James Madison University invites applications and nominations for a creative and forward thinking leader to serve in the position of Associate Vice Provost for Outreach & Engagement.  O&E is a partially self-supporting unit that serves non-traditional students, offering access to higher education for multiple audiences.  The mission of O&E is to provide access to anyone seeking opportunities for education or personal growth.  The Associate Vice Provost is responsible for overseeing both credit and non-credit programs via diverse methods of delivery for JMU students and community members, as well as supporting economic development efforts throughout the Commonwealth.  The AVP will be responsible for evaluating the current programs offered and recommending directions for strategic future growth.
