Service-Learning Grant Proposals Due 03/08! The deadline is approaching for this years' Service-Learning Course Grants program. Grants of up to $4,000 are available to support the development and enrichment of service-learning courses. All proposals are due by close-of-business Friday, March 8th 2013. The Service-Learning Initiative is available for technical assistance and guidance at any point up to the proposal deadline, so please contact us! Course Spotlight

In order to help service-learning scholars make connections and learn about new projects, we will seek to highlight a new service-learning course in every newsletter. Courses will be shared both here and in the "Spotlight" section on the front page of our website. ART 2520S Community Celebration March 7th in Thompson Library Art Edu 2520s (A Service Learning Experience with Digital Artmaking) has been working with a class at GEMS Middle School to create community future casting videos about the school. They will be screening the videos on Thursday, March 7th from 2:30-3:30pm at Thompson Library 165. Refreshments will be provided, and all are welcome. Please join us if you are able!

Scholarship & Service-Learning - Call for Proposals: IARSLCE 2013 The International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE) is pleased to announce that proposals are now being accepted for the 2013 conference in Omaha, Nebraska. The conference will take place November 6-8, 2013 and is hosted by the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The theme of this year's conference is Reinvigorating our Process of Discovery: Research Informing Practice in Service-Learning and Community Engagement. Cornell College seeks Coordinator of Civic Engagement Applications are being accepted for the position of Coordinator of Civic Engagement at Cornell College. This 10-month, full-time position is responsible for coordinating a civic engagement program that offers educational and developmental opportunities for students through direct service, community advocacy, social activism, and public scholarship. 2013 Diversity Leadership Symposium: Enriching Our Cultural Competencies The Diversity Leadership Symposium at The Ohio State University was created to provide an inter-departmental professional development event in the area of inter-cultural competence for higher education professionals and college students. Come and join colleagues from across the University and learn more about Cultural Intelligence, Interfaith Understanding and Respect, Today's Veteran on Campus and other topics.
