Service-Learning Research and Scholarship Workshop on May 8th How does service-learning enrich scholarship? What is the "value" of service-learning projects and how do they positively (or negatively) impact academics? What role should service-learning play in tenure and promotion decisions?  How does service-learning support community partnerships that make an impact? A panel of scholars from Pennsylvania State University and several disciplines across Ohio State University will lead an interactive discussion surrounding these questions and more on Wednesday, May 8th in 1039 Derby Hall from 10am-11:30am. Final Presentations for the Montaña de Luz (Honduras) Service-Learning Program
Join the Service-Learning Engineering program on Tuesday, April 16th, from 4:10-6:10 at 285 Dreese Lab.  Three teams will present their projects to improve the capacity of the Montana de Luz orphanage in Honduras. These projects include computer upgrades in the Student Lab and Administrative Offices, kitchen and cabinet remodeling, and work to improve water quality at the orphanage. Feel free to stay after the presentations for further discussions and a brief social with the students. Events and Opportunities
A Place at the Table The College of Social Work, The Ohio State Eminence Fellows, Office of University Outreach & Engagement, and the Hunger.FOOD.Health Food Security Initiative would like to invite you to the screening of the 2013 documentary A Place at the Table, a film about hunger in the United States. The screening will take place Saturday, April 13th from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at the U.S. Bank Conference Theater in the Ohio Union. After the screening, there will be a discussion with the community who gathers and a panel of food/community experts. Students will also be exposed to food-related service and research opportunities in the university and Columbus community.
