Ohio State Service-Learning News

Long-Term Service-Learning Opportunity with Children's Hunger Alliance Children's Hunger Alliance (CHA) is a statewide organization dedicated to fighting hunger and childhood obesity. One of the programs they coordinate is an afterschool feeding program where kids can get a healthy snack and have a safe place to learn and play in the afternoon. They are currently seeking Ohio State students who can provide educational, low-resource programming for their sites. They are open to any new ideas, as long as they're easily executable and related to their core mission. Ideally, they would like for this to be a long-term partnership between CHA and Ohio State's service-learning community. If you would be interested in making this a service-learning opportunity for your students, please email us at hcox at esue.ohio-state.edu<mailto:hcox at esue.ohio-state.edu>.

New Service-Learning Mailing List for Students In order to enhance student communications, the Service-Learning Initiative has started a mailing list specifically for students. This mailing list will discuss service-learning news that is relevant to students, as well as opportunities and events centered around service and non-profits. The SLSR will no longer share student opportunities unless they also have a significant interest for faculty. If you'd like to register for the student mailing list, please visit the following link: https://lists.service.ohio-state.edu/mailman/listinfo/osus-lstudents. If you have opportunities for students that you'd like to share via the listserv, please contact Harmony Cox at hcox at esue.ohio-state.edu<mailto:hcox at esue.ohio-state.edu>.
