Ohio State Service-Learning News

The Service-Learning Initiative and 200Columbus The Service-Learning Initiative plans to be an active part of the 200Columbus bicentennial celebration. We are working closely with Ohio State's bicentennial celebration committee to participate in events throughout the year. We are excited for the opportunity to share Ohio State's tradition of service and outreach and the way it is connected to the history of civic engagement in Columbus. If you are interested in learning more about our efforts to partner with this city initiative, please contact us at slearning at osu.edu<mailto:slearning at osu.edu>.

Events

This Above All This Above All is a show developed by the MFA Acting Class of 2012. The production is based on the international partnership between Ohio State and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The partnership, focused on the RSC's "Stand Up For Shakespeare" educational programming, has provided professional development to dozens of area teachers and theatre artists, who share learning opportunities with K-12 students through the plays of William Shakespeare. The show explores the experiences of the MFA actors with the RSC's education team; their work in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms; and research into the state of education in America, all with an eye to Shakespeare's plays. The play will be presented February 16 to March 3 at the Drake Performance and Event Center.
