Scott,

Look at this Pull Request https://github.com/OSC/ood-myjobs/pull/265. This is an example of adding a text field, a checkbox, and a dropdown to the job options.

Let me know if you have any questions about the changes.

Thanks,
Eric

    Eric-

    Thanks for the detailed follow-up.

I'm going to dig in to this and hack something in for us (SLURM only shop, single cluster), because this is a big usability issue for our new users. I can see pretty clearly where it's an issue for the general case though.

I'll share once I have something sort of going.

    Best,

        Scott,

The 1.3 RPM indeed has v2.8.3 of the Job Composer (https://github.com/OSC/ood-myjobs). Unfortunately, this list of open issues https://github.com/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+archived%3Afalse+user%3AOSC+sort%3Aupdated-desc+milestone%3AOOD1.4 that were marked for 1.3 did not get complete by that release. I'll marked these for 1.4.

As far as https://github.com/OSC/ood-myjobs/issues/211 is concerned, I'm not sure what the correct design would be. All of the resource managers provide ways to programmatically get a list of available queues, but in the case of the Job Options there are use cases where you would want to only show a subset of these queues. Furthermore, Job Options lets users select the cluster to submit to, so in some cases the list of queues (or other job options) would need to change dynamically based on the cluster selected. If you have ideas here or a preference, please share on the issue.

One work around would be to provide job templates for each cluster you have, with the template script setting the allocation and partition as headers. The possible values could be mentioned in comments.

In the short term if you are wanting to modify the code to achieve what you are trying, please reach out to me directly and I may be able to help point you in the right direction.

        Thanks,
        Eric

            Hi Eric -

Some thread drift, but I have a question about:

              1. Is this from an OnDemand 1.3 installation using the rpm?

Is there a difference between what is in the 1.3 RPM and:

            https://github.com/OSC/ood-myjobs

I'm trying to do some customization - we are at v2.8.3 - and I am specifically trying to get the "Job Options" to allow for setting both a different allocation and specifying partition. There's a ticket open for this:

            https://github.com/OSC/ood-myjobs/issues/211

and it looks like it is marked as a feature for 1.3, but it's not clear to me that it is there - I'm using git to check out the myjobs right now.

            Best,
