New Reset and Restart Webpages Address Students Experiencing Homelessness and Gifted Student Identification
The Ohio Department of Education today published additions to its Reset and Restart Education webpage to provide details on how schools can support students experiencing homelessness and identify and serve students who are gifted in K-12 (as well as additional considerations for supporting gifted students). Specifically, new information on the Students Experiencing Homelessness webpage provides details about the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and includes resources to help schools support students facing these challenges as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.  Likewise, the new information designed to assist schools in identifying and serving students who are gifted in K-12 outlines procedures for providing gifted services. This webpage has a complementary link containing additional considerations for identifying and serving students who are gifted, including discussion questions schools might ask as they address the needs of gifted students.
