[Ohiogift] U.S. Department of Education challenges students to build satellites for space research; offers cash prizes

The Ohio Department of Educationthis afternoon reiterated details of a satellite-based competition ofinterest to Ohio'sstudents in gifted ed and STEM environments:     "The U.S. Department of Educationrecently announced a national challenge to inspire students to build technicalskills for careers in space and beyond. CTE Mission: CubeSat is a challenge for highschool students to design and build CubeSat (cube satellite) prototypes, orsatellites that aid in space research.     "Schools interested in entering CTEMission: CubeSat should form a team and submit a mission proposal by 5:59 p.m.Eastern Time on Oct. 16, 2020 — no in-person collaboration or prior experiencewith CubeSat is required. The online submission form asks for schoolinformation, a team profile, a project proposal and anticipated learningoutcomes. Curated educational resources are available to students and teachersonline in the CTE Mission: CubeSat resource hub.
