[Ohiogift] U.S. Department of Education Launches Space Mission Challenge for High School Students

Everyone:      Some exciting news for the gifted edcommunity came in today: The U.S. Department of Education just announced a newSTEM-based initiative, CTE Mission: CubeSat. The program offers a nationalchallenge to inspire students to build technical skills for careers in space, technology,math, aeronautics and related disciplines.      "High school students from across thecountry are invited to design and build CubeSat (cube satellite) prototypes, orsatellites that aid in space research, bringing space missions out of the cloudsand into the classroom," according to the announcement.     To learn more, schools can join a virtualinformation session on Sept. 1.
