Finally, please send your registration form in, even if you do not have your P.O. ready. Information on keynoters, small sessions, parent day, awards, Sunday functions, vendors, graduate credit and more are all posted at the above link.

State Report Cards
After a break in August, the State Board of Education met this week and received a report on the state report cards. The overview to the board did not include any information about the gifted performance indicator. However, OAGC has done an initial review, and posted a brief analysis on our Advocacy Updates/Alerts page at oagc.com/advocacyalerts.asp<http://www.oagc.com/advocacyalerts.asp>.

Gifted Assessment
The State Board of Education voted to accept the assessment and qualifying score for the gifted intervention specialist license. This assessment should be required of candidates in 2019.

Gifted Rule Guidance
ODE is expected to release some updated guidance on the gifted rule including the professional development. Look for another News Flash once this guidance is available.

Gifted HQPD -- High Quality Professional Development
As the 2018 revised gifted operating standards are now in effect, OAGC has been working hard to assist districts in implementing the new classroom teacher gifted HQPD requirement. We have an incredible amount of new tools and information to assist gifted professionals and districts. Also, we continue to develop Ohio-specific professional development through our partnership with GTIGNITE. For more information about these courses along with all the incredible new tools and documents that will help you plan, provide, and track gifted HQPD, please go to oagc.com/hqpd.asp<http://oagc.com/hqpd.asp> . Please note that all of our Fall conference sessions indicate how they align to ODE and OAGC professional development standards.
