Friends:

A lot of students and their teachers in gifted ed these days have an
interest in film animation, from learning about it to mastering techniques.
I just noticed that Pixar has teamed up with Khan Academy and YouTube to
address these interests.

*Their statement at the main website, Pixar in a Box:*
"Pixar in a Box is a behind-the-scenes look at how Pixar artists do their
jobs. You will be able to animate bouncing balls, build a swarm of robots,
and make virtual fireworks explode. The subjects you learn in school —
math, science, computer science, and humanities — are used every day to
create amazing movies at Pixar. This collaboration between Pixar Animation
Studios and Khan Academy is sponsored by Disney."

*An overview on Pixar storytelling is here:*

*The primary related site is Pixar in a Box, here:*
https://www.khanacademy.org/partner-content/pixar
*At this location, visitors (students and teachers slike) learn about
several topics: Lesson guides, The Art of Storytelling, Simulation, Color
Science, Virtual cameras, Effects, Patterns, Rigging, Animation,
Environment modeling, Character modeling, Crowds, Sets & Staging, and
Rendering. *
