Teacher Academy Call for Proposal
We had many great small sessions for the fall conference. If you would like to present at the Spring Teacher Academy (February 27th and 28th, 2017), please go to oagc.com/teachercademy.asp<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=&msgid=0&act=111111&c=324052&destination=http%3A%2F%2Foagc.com%2Fteacheracademy.asp> and download a call for proposal. Proposals are due December 15th.  If you need additional time to submit a proposal, please contact anngift at aol.com <mailto:anngift at aol.com?subject=teacher%20academy%20call%20for%20proposal> . The keynote speaker for the Teacher Academy will be Bertie Kingore.

Advocacy

Gifted Operating Standards Update
The full state board of education is expected to vote on the gifted operating standards on December 13th. Even though the draft was voted out of committee on a 9 - 0 vote,  it is unclear whether there will be amendments proposed at the full board.  If the standards are approved in an intent to adopt in December, a chapter 119 hearing should be held in January or February. Baring any unforeseen issues that would require the rule to refiled, the rule would be finalized in March or April at the latest.
