Advocacy

Common Core Repeal Bill

On September 4, the House Rules and References Committee accepted a sub bill on
HB59, a bill that repeals common core standards and related assessments in Ohio.
For more information about these hearings and the potential impact of HB 597,
please go to [3]www.oagc.com/advocacyAlerts.asp . The link will also take you
to information about how to be part of the Ohio Standards Review Committees.

State Board of Education Elections As most gifted education advocates are aware,
the actions of the state board are very important. There are several key
elections this year. OAGC does not endorse any candidates, but we do urge that
gifted advocates cast their vote very thoughtfully. For more information about
the races, please go to [4]www.oagc.com/advocacyAlerts.asp
