I am currently hiring retired teachers to teach for our online school
part-time.  The job information is below.  Please pass to anyone who may be

Hello,

At Virtual Community School of Ohio, we are building an army of high school
adjunct teachers to support our fast-growing part-time program.  We
anticipate major growth in the near future and need qualified motivated
teachers on our team in all subject areas.  An *ideal *candidate has
availability throughout the day i.e. retired, stay-at-home parents,
part-time teachers, etc.

Teaching online provides valuable opportunities to both students and
teachers alike.  Becoming an adjunct staff member means you will teach a
course virtually to students all over the state of Ohio.  Our part-time
students take one or more courses with us through their home school.  We
customize each partner school's needs, which provides for greater customer
service benefiting the student.

Benefits to you:

   -

   Work part-time from anywhere by phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop
   -

   Interact with students in a whole new way
   -

   $100 for a full credit/ $65 for a half credit for any student enrolled
   longer than 60 days
    -

   Earn STRS contributions (any employee working under a teaching contract
   will have STRS withheld from their pay.  Also, there will be a board
   contribution of 14% of employee's gross wages to STRS.)
   -

   Earn one check in June
   -

   Flexible schedule: YOU decide how much you want to work


Requirements:

   -

   Must have a valid Ohio teaching license grades 7-12
   -

   Must be HQT (if applicable)
    -

   Have own computer, phone, and internet service
   -

   Willingness to learn new things


Responsibilities:

   -

   Follow established curriculum (minimal lesson planning)
   -

   Grade papers within 48 hours
   -

   Return all communications within 24 hours
   -

   Contact inactive or failing students
   -

   Send weekly messages and announcements
   -

   Provide constructive, meaningful feedback
   -

   Implement ways to help students i.e. instructions, videos, helpful
   links, etc.
   -

   Complete course setup (teacher info, hide assignments, groups, etc.)
   -

   Team with Special Education teacher to make accommodations (many are
   inherent)
