Yes, Caltech and MIT are two of my top choices. I really like their fair admissions systems. They both, especially Caltech, place factors such as legacy, race, athletic recruitment, and such well below academic achievement. Additionally, I like that they place a lot of emphasis on academic extracurricular activities such as leadership (leading and founding organizations), academic summer programs, research, internships, awards, and honors students have participate in and received throughout high school. While in-school grades are important and should be a factor in admissions, I believe academic extracurricular activities and achievement show more about a student, how far they will go in the future at college and beyond, and how much they have and will contribute to their communities. I also like Caltech's student-to-faculty ratio because in addition to more individualized attention, it allows for more opportunities for students to work with faculty on extracurricular projects such as research.

I think The Concord Review is a great opportunity for students to showcase their academic extracurricular achievement because the students published in The Concord Review have studied areas that they are interested in (that may likely not be taught in depth in school) and effectively communicated the results of their studies to a wider audience. Additionally, The Concord Review encourages students worldwide to pursue and communicate such studies.

Thank you again for the opportunity.
