I really like their fair admissions systems. They both, especially Caltech, place factors such as legacy, race, athletic recruitment, and such well below academic achievement. Additionally, I like that they place a lot of emphasis on <b>academic extracurricular activities</b> such as leadership (leading and founding organizations), academic summer programs, research, internships, awards, and honors students have participate in and received throughout high school. While in-school grades are important and should be a factor in admissions, I believe <b>academic extracurricular activities and achievement</b> show more about a student, how far they will go in the future at college and beyond, and how much they have and will contribute to their communities. I also like Caltech's student-to-faculty ratio because in addition to more individualized attention, it allows for more opportunities for students to work with faculty on extracurricular projects such as research. </font></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Palatino; min-height: 16px; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="4"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br></font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Palatino; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><font class="Apple-style-span" size="4">I think <i>The Concord Review</i> is a great opportunity for students to showcase their <b>academic extracurricular achievement</b> because the students published in <i>The Concord Review</i> have studied areas that they are interested in (that may likely not be taught in depth in school) and effectively communicated the results of their studies to a wider audience. Additionally, <i>The Concord Review</i> encourages students worldwide to pursue and communicate such studies. </font></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Palatino; min-height: 16px; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="4"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br></font></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 12px/normal Palatino; "><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><font class="Apple-style-span" size="4">Thank you again for the opportunity. </font></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 14px/normal Palatino; min-height: 19px; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="4"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br></font></div><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 9.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px Palatino"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><font class="Apple-style-span" size="4">-------------------</font></span></p><div><br></div><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 2.1px 0.0px; line-height: 14.0px; font: 12.0px Palatino"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"><font class="Apple-style-span" size="4"><i>Jessica Li </i>(Kang Youwei) is a Junior at the Kent Place School, in Summit, New Jersey, where she is the founder of their math research program and is doing an independent study in abstract algebra.
