Job Description:
Gifted Endorsement Required

Successful candidate will coordinate and provide a systematic and continuous program within two buildings of the district that will meet the educational needs of students identified as gifted. (Reading and Superior Cognitive) Said candidate will be able to provide direct instruction and support student acceleration and achievement in the gifted program in grades three through five.

Responsibilities for grade 3:
Work collaboratively with co-teachers to plan lessons for reading instruction for superior cognitive and reading gifted students
Provide direct instruction and small group instruction to promote student achievment in gifted learners
Responsibilities for grades 4 and 5:
Teach reading (grade 4) and English Language Arts (grade 5) to superior cognitive and reading gifted students
Provide direct instruction on grade level standards while providing enriched and accelerated instruction
Work collaboratively with grade level colleagues
Additional Responsibilities:
Write Written Educational Plans for each student
Communicate with parents on the progress of the WEP
Work with administrators in identification of gifted students

Experience in teaching English Language Arts preferred
