Dear Ann Sheldon:
I am writing on behalf of the Ohio Department of Education from Evaluation Systems group of Pearson. Evaluation Systems is the assessment vendor offering the new Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) licensure assessment program. 
As you know, beginning in 2013 the educator tests and assessments currently used by the Ohio Department of Education for initial licensure, known as the ETS Praxis tests, will be replaced by a new series of licensure tests offered by the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson. These changes in licensure assessments will necessitate a review and validation by Ohio educators and faculty at Ohio colleges and universities that prepare these candidates. 
We want to thank you for your recent nominations of educators to take part in this endeavor and would like to ask for your continued assistance to identify and nominate PK-12 educators and education preparation faculty members to assist in this validation process in these assessment areas. A diverse representation of educators to serve on these validation committees is very important.
Please feel free to use the online nomination form.  If you are interested in being part of a committee, we would welcome your application as well!
The first meeting will be conducted online and will take place in late January 2013. Some committee members will meet face-to-face in Columbus early this spring. For those committee participants who will be asked to meet for a day-and-a-half test-content and test-item review session in Columbus, Pearson will:
• Provide substitute reimbursement to schools 
• Reimburse for travel and meal expenses 
• Hotel accommodations will be provided (up to two nights lodging for each participant)
• Breakfast and lunch will be provided at each session
