Friends:

Many of us know or studied with Ohiogift member Bob Schultz, Gifted Education & Curriculum Studies Professor at The University of Toledo, and he's pleased to report he has a new book just published: If I’m So Smart, Why Aren’t the Answers Easy?

Written by gifted experts Schultz and Jim Delisle, the book "sheds light on the day-to-day experiences of those growing up gifted. In their own enlightening words, teens share their experiences with giftedness, including friendships and fitting in with peers, school struggles and successes, and worries about the future," according to commentary from the publisher, Prufrock Press, at http://x.co/pw9Z.

"The book really appeals to kids who have been identified gifted, but whose parents really lack the wherewithal to know what this means or what they should do," Bob adds. "Also, for teachers, the book has lots of 'Your Turn' sidebars, which provide activities that can be completed either individually, or as class projects related to many of the issues."

He adds that one key to the book's value "is getting the books into the hands of teachers and parents. From there, the books will take good care of the kids. So far, the book has been well received. We sold out completely at NAGC."

For all of us involved in gifted education, that early response is great news. For more about the book, visit http://x.co/pw9Z. Or contact Bob (Robert A. Schultz, Ph.D.) via his university address: robert.schultz at utoledo.edu. Online, he's here: http://homepages.utoledo.edu/rschult/. See one of his projects here: http://giftedkidspeak.com/.

Best wishes,
Art Snyder
