Message from the MWBWG President:  Are you interested in having your 2020 meeting poster or oral presentation posted on the MWBWG Website?

Hello, everyone:  Once again, I wish you, your families, friends, and colleagues safety and good health during these truly unprecedented times we find ourselves trying to navigate.  The COVID-19 pandemic continues to take a toll on everyone’s personal and professional lives and for many of us that means working remotely which presents a whole new suite of challenges.  I want to sincerely thank all MWBWG members for your continued time and dedication to our organization.

Having to cancel the 2020 meeting was truly disappointing, but the Board of Directors would like to offer MWBWG members (both students and professionals) the unique opportunity to have your posters and/or oral presentations posted to the MWBWG website!  Participation is completely optional, but we feel it is extremely important that our members have an outlet in which to share their research and perhaps even meet graduation requirements.

The purpose of this email is to gauge interest in this opportunity.  If we have at least 10 members wishing to present “virtually”, we will move forward with accepting materials and deadlines will be provided asap. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE MAKING YOUR DECISION TO PARTICIPATE:

·        Regardless of whether you submitted an abstract or not for the 2020 meeting, you can provide a poster and/or oral presentation – but you MUST be a MWBWG member. •        Only PDFs of posters will be accepted.

·        Instructions for oral presentations:  Please record your narrative over your PowerPoint slides and then save the entire file as a PDF.  This is a feature already included in PowerPoint.

•        Note that anything submitted will be available for public viewing and that your research will be available to anyone to download.

•        All submissions must clearly list the email address of the primary author – this will allow others to contact you directly and provide feedback.

•        Awards for the best poster and best oral presentation will be given to students only.

Therefore, please e-mail me directly no later than 12:00pm CST, Monday, April 20, 2020 if you wish to submit a poster or presentation.  I will notify all members via the list-serve on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 of the final results.  Remember that in order to proceed, we need to have at least 10 members willing to participate.  We would love to have everyone who prepared a poster or talk to have their work displayed on the MWBWG website, so please take advantage of this opportunity!
