Purpose: Bats often pose management challenges to individuals and private, state and federal organizations involved in mining. Best management practices and guidance with consistent application across state jurisdictions are difficult to come by due to the diversity of bats and often limited information or understanding of how bats use specific mines and mines across broad landscapes. New Threatened and Endangered species from White-nosed Syndrome bring additional challenges.
We have established a Steering Committee (SC) to develop a workshop for private, state, and federal people and organizations that are involved in or should be involved in the management, conservation, and research of bats and mines (active, inactive, and abandoned). We believe this workshop will provide answers for people, identify priority actions and information needs, and catalyze individual and collaborative proactive actions to meet broader bats and mines community needs.
We respectfully request your expertise and assistance in planning this important workshop through completion of this online survey. The information will be summarized and used by the SC to confirm the time and location of the workshop, key logistics, the planned agenda, and other important details.

Kind regards
Dave
