Greetings all MWBWG members:  This email shall serve as the Official Meeting Announcement, Registration, and Call for Papers for the 11th Annual Midwest Bat Working Group meeting, April 4-5, 2019 at the Field Museum in beautiful downtown Chicago.  Registration is now officially open so please feel free to contact me via email with any questions you may have.  This year’s host is the Illinois DNR in partnership with the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium.

For your convenience, 2 separate Word documents are attached to this email containing:  1) Meeting Announcement and Call for Papers; and 2) 2019 Registration/Dues Form. There are a few changes this year that you should be aware of:  MWBWG now has the capability to accept credit card payments via our website.  Our web master, Brian Heeringa, has worked extremely hard to facilitate this option which means we have finally entered the 21st century!  When navigating the MWBWG web site, you will find 3 sections under the 2019 MWBWG Annual Meeting Heading:

  1.  2019 MWBWG Meeting Announcement and Call for Papers – forms can be downloaded and are also attached to this email;
  2.  Instructions for Presentations/Posters/Student Competitions/Silent Auction Items; and
  3.  Registration and Payment Information – Registration and Dues form can be downloaded and are also attached to this email.

Please note that regardless of whether you wish to pay via check or money order, you must postal mail your completed registration/dues form and payment to:
Brianne Walters, Department of Biology, Indiana State University, 600 Chestnut Street, Terre Haute, IN 47809.  Checks should be made out to MWBWG

If paying by credit card, please scan and email your completed registration/dues form to Brianne at:  brianne.walters at indstate.edu<mailto:brianne.walters at indstate.edu?subject=2019%20MWBWG%20Annual%20Meeting%20Registration%2FDues>

After you have paid via credit card, please print a copy of your registration form and confirmation email for reimbursement purposes from your respective agencies.  We will hopefully be adding a “Shopping Cart” application to the website in the future that will automatically generate a receipt, however in the meantime, we ask for your patience and understanding.

Please note that a final agenda will be available in late March after all abstracts have been received and processed. A map showing the most convenient walking/Uber/Lyft route from the Travelodge to the Museum Complex will also be sent.  We are urging people to please walk as the museum is approximately 15 minutes from the hotel and downtown parking is both expensive and at a premium.
