We have a few announcements related to the annual MWBWG meeting:

Meeting Registration update:

·         The MWBWG annual meeting registration has been extended to coincide with the last day of T-shirt sales. Registration and shirt orders must be in by 5PM (CDT) on Monday, March 20th. More information regarding registration is attached. Registration fee is $35 for students and $55 for professionals. After 5PM (CDT) March 20th, registration fees go up $10; $45 for students and $65 for professionals.  Please send completed registration forms to Brianne Walters (Brianne.walters at indstate.edu<mailto:Brianne.walters at indstate.edu>). Membership Dues:

·         Membership is open to anyone who seeks to collaborate on regional bat research, management, or conservation. Dues support the Dave Redell Lifetime Achievement Award and various student awards; website maintenance; costs of annual meetings; student mixers; and member swag. The advantages of being a member are endless, but to name a few: Networking and Professional Development, Participation in Regional Bat Conservation, Exposure to Bat Ecology Workshops and Cool Member Swag (while supplies last). This year we are offering a mug to members only (see picture). Membership dues are $15 for students and $25 for professionals.

2017 MWBWG SILENT AUCTION:

·         The Wisconsin planning team for the 2017 Midwest Bat Working Group annual meeting will be hosting a silent auction fundraiser that will run during the Poster Session and Social on Thursday, April 6th.  Proceeds of the silent auction will be used to support state bat festivals or other bat conservation outreach events, and to support a student scholarship.  Please let Brian Heeringa know by email (brian.heeringa at gmail.com<mailto:brian.heeringa at gmail.com>) or call 715-292-5692 if you plan to donate an item for the silent auction. Please consider donating an item for this great fund-raising opportunity!

STUDENT/PROFESSIONAL MIXER:

·         This is an opportunity for students members at lunch on Thursday to network and discuss careers with professionals in the field. Student pre-registration will be required (free). Professionals by invite only. Email Brian Heeringa (brian.heeringa at gmail.com<mailto:brian.heeringa at gmail.com>) or Jennifer Redell (Jennifer.Redell at wisconsin.gov<mailto:Jennifer.Redell at wisconsin.gov>)  by March 24th (Friday) to register. Students must be MWBWG members to attend the lunch.
