Jackson Group is seeking qualified applicants to fill the full time position of Bat Researcher/Surveyor.  Qualified applicants must possess a Federal Endangered Species permit for Indiana bats and have at least 3 years of experience managing and/or conducting presence/absence surveys.  We are looking for a bat researcher who feels they are exceptional project managers when it comes to bat surveys as well as other threatened and endangered species projects.  You will excel in this position if you are able to provide strategic task management, have excellent writing and grammatical skills, thrive in challenging environments, are willing to travel for extended periods of time, and are passionate about conducting/managing bat surveys and radio telemetry projects.


Minimum Qualifications:

  *   A federal endangered species permit for Indiana Bats (REQUIRED).
  *   Enthusiasm, integrity, and health to perform field work throughout the night in potentially uncomfortable settings. (Darkness, weather, etc.)
  *   A working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations for compliance and permitting.
  *   Deployment and maintenance of acoustic monitoring devices for ground-based stations and elevated masts/towers.
  *   Ability to manage and conduct radio telemetry projects.
  *   B.S. or M.S. degree in wildlife related field.


Salary:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Location:
Richmond, KY (Main Office), Columbus, OH (Opening later this year), or Charleston, WV (Opening January) offices.

This position also includes a telecommuting component that would allow candidate to work from home for a negotiable time period.
