AFCPE has a very diverse pool of professionals (credit counselors, financial counselors and coaches, housing counselors). Our AFC® professionals deal with the entire life-cycle of the individual’s financial life. Many of them are in the student loan arena and would also be willing to assist if you need. You might ask a National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) <https://www.nfcc.org/our-services/student-loan-debt-counseling>  member agency.

 

I suspect that some of the smaller agencies may not work with student loans.  GreenPath <http://www.greenpath.com/how-we-can-help/student-loan-counseling>  is one that does and Money Management International <http://www.moneymanagement.org/Credit-Counseling/Student-Loan-Counseling.aspx>  is another.

Does anyone know of any resources available about private loan counseling? It's fairly easy to put together information about federal loans, payment plans, etc. but when a student with a fair amount of private loan debt too stops in for help it's almost impossible to help them.
