The MVAPICH team is pleased to announce the release of MVAPICH2-GDR
2.2b and OSU Micro-Benchmarks (OMB) 5.2.
MVAPICH2-GDR 2.2b is based on the standard MVAPICH2 2.2b release and
incorporates designs that take advantage of the new GPUDirect RDMA
technology for inter-node data movement on NVIDIA GPUs clusters with
Mellanox InfiniBand interconnect. Further, MVAPICH2-GDR 2.2b provides
efficient support for CUDA-Aware Managed Memory.
Features, Enhancements, and Bug Fixes for MVAPICH2-GDR 2.2b are listed
here.
* Features and Enhancements (since MVAPICH2-GDR 2.2a)
- Based on MVAPICH2-2.2b
- Support for CUDA-Aware Managed Memory
- Efficient intra-node and inter-node communication directly
from/to Managed pointers
- Automatic support for heterogeneous program with both
managed and no managed memory (traditional) allocation
* Bug Fixes (since MVAPICH2-GDR 2.2a)
- Provide clearer message when GDR library is unable to use
GDR kernel driver
MVAPICH2-GDR 2.2b release requires the following software to be
installed on your system:
- Mellanox OFED 2.1 or later
- NVIDIA Driver 331.20 or later
- NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit 6.0 or later
- Plugin module to enable GPUDirect RDMA
- (Strongly recommended) NVIDIA GDRCOPY module
Further, MVAPICH2-GDR 2.2b enables support on GPU-Cluster using
regular OFED (without GPUDirect RDMA)
New features, enhancements and bug fixes for OSU Micro-Benchmarks
(OMB) 5.2 are listed here.
* New Features & Enhancements (since OMB 5.1)
- Support for CUDA-Aware Managed Memory
* osu_bibw
* osu_bw
* osu_latency
* osu_allgather
* osu_allgatherv
* osu_allreduce
* osu_alltoall
* osu_alltoallv
* osu_bcast
* osu_gather
* osu_gatherv
* osu_reduce
* osu_reduce_scatter
* osu_scatter
* osu_scatterv
- Add ability to specify minimum message size in addition to maximum
message size for all collective benchmarks
