[mvapich-discuss] mpi4py and MVAPICH2 2.0b GDR, "Error in initializing MVAPICH2 ptmalloc library"

Dear all,

I am performing some experiments using mpi4py (1.3.1. I built the library against MVAPICH2 2.0b GDR, compilation is straightforward... no special flags are required.

mpi4py has an internal tests that basically print the hostname of the nodes...

$ mpirun -np 4 -ppn 2 python demo/helloworld.py
WARNING: Error in initializing MVAPICH2 ptmalloc library.Continuing without InfiniBand registration cache support.
Hello, World! I am process 0 of 4 on tesla45.
Hello, World! I am process 1 of 4 on tesla45.
Hello, World! I am process 2 of 4 on tesla46.
Hello, World! I am process 3 of 4 on tesla46.

This ptmalloc warning/error appears. 

Is there any known incompatibility between mpi4py and MVAPICH2? Can this warning/error affect the performance? Does anybody have seen such a error before using mpi4py?
