removing the flag "-fast" does not help. I tried this configure line (I think simple enough...)

./configure CC=pgcc CXX=pgCC FC=pgf90 CFLAGS="-m64 -noswitcherror" FCFLAGS="-m64 -noswitcherror" CXXFLAGS="-m64 -noswitcherror" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/lib64" MPICHLIB_LDFLAGS="-L/usr/lib64" --prefix=/usr/local/Cluster-Users/fs395/mvapich2-1.9/pgi-14.3 --with-device=ch3:mrail --with-rdma=gen2  --without-cuda --without-limic2

but nothing changed unfortunately. That particular error I reported still show up. OSU benchmark is not built correctly, the MPI library works perfectly after doing make install.

Thanks for the suggestion! I am going to try LiMIC2 on our system, I hope to see an improvement of the performance.
