Hi Sayantan

In the context we talked about a few days earlier, there are two things
I'd like to bring to your attention:

1. The mpdtrace issue still remains, even if the hostname seems to be an
RFC compliant, legitimate name:

For example:

Bash: hostname <on host 1>
xmc2.5

bash: hostname
xmc1.5

bash: hostname
mobo.5

bash: mpdtrace
xmc2
xmc1
mobo
(notice that the part of hostname after the period is missing.)

2. According to the README_MPICH2 file that comes with the installation,
the mpd.conf file should be installed as ~/.mpd.conf for non-root users
and as /etc/mpd.conf for root user. However, even for root, mpiexec asks
for a .mpd.conf in /root

Issue #2 is a minor issue, but issue#1 could be serious, e.g. in a blade
server or VME chassis type of scenario.
